Collaboration with Azim Premji Foundation (2009 - 2014)
Providing education to every child has been a long cherished dream of independent India. The Constitution of India has bestowed upon the state the obligation of universalization of education. Implementation of the Right to Education Act has been a positive step towards realizing this dream.
The school is at the core of the education system. Head Teachers play a critical role in the overall development of the school and in achieving the above goal There is a need to develop the personal and professional capabilities of all the functionaries’ related to this in order to achieve and sustain overall school development.
The Department of Public Instruction has designed several programs to address this need. However, we have a long way to go to achieve the goals of quality education and hence need to work with increased dedication and commitment. Azim Premji Foundation has, in collaboration with the Department of Public Instruction, developed and started implementing the ‘Cohesive District Education Leadership Development Program’ to strengthen the capacities of education functionaries from schools across districts.
Different Regional Resource Institutions had been assigned the responsibility to implement SLDP in 7 districts of Karnataka. EFIL was the RRI for Chitradurga and Chikaballapur districts.
